Tequeños Mixtos
WHAT YOU NEED
- 18 wonton dough sheets
- 1/2 cup sliced Cacique® Oaxaca cheese
- 1 package Cacique® Queso Quesadilla shredded cheese
- 1/2 cup sliced ham
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoons chimichurri (optional)
- Guacamole (optional)
- Aji amarillo sauce (optional)
- Salsa (optional)
- Refried black beans (optional)
HOW TO MAKE IT
- Put a wonton dough on the kitchen counter. Wet your fingertip with a little water and moist the edges of the wonton dough. Place a slice of Oaxaca cheese on one side of the square, top with a slice of ham and then 1-2 tablespoons of Queso Quesadilla shredded cheese. Roll each wonton dough like a jelly roll, beginning with the side of the filling. Press the two sides to seal and make as many tequeños as possible.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a saucepan and fry the tequeños until golden brown, (about two minutes per side). Drain on paper towels and serve immediately with the sauces of your choice.
- Cook’s Note or helpful tip (optional):If preparing the night before, store prepped tequeños in a tightly sealed container and refrigerate. Fry when ready to serve.
